First of all, each person needs to be alone sometimes. For instance, when I feel upset for any reason, I like to be alone. In addition, being alone is essential for me when I want to think clearly about any problem I face. For me, my bedroom is my small world that I escape to it when I feel that I do not want to talk to people.
On the other hand, living alone makes people less social because they used to not share anything with anybody at home such as cooking, eating, and watching TV. Joseph Stromberg (2013) refers to the bad effect of living alone on the health "This indicates that the real danger of living alone is not feeling lonely per se, but having reduced contact with others." So, they feel weariness when they communicate with people for a long time. For example, one of my friend who lives alone likes to spend her time alone rather than spend it with friends.
Finally, I think moderation is the key here to keep balance and allow us to live in a harmony. To illustrate, I live with my family, but I can be alone when I want at the same time. Moreover, they respect me when I tell them that I need to be alone to rearrange my thoughts.
To sum up, people argue about if being alone is a good idea or not. I think escaping from people is important sometimes, but this does not mean that we have to live alone. So, moderation is important to have social life and private space.
